Receive and process calls for police, fire, ambulance, 911 and general emergency services. Process calls by dispatching the appropriate fire, medical, or law enforcement personnel, or refer the caller to the proper agency/personnel. Multi-task by obtaining essential identifying information in a timely manner while maintaining contact with callers under emergency conditions. Provide callers with pre-arrival medical instructions during medical emergencies. Provide callers with pre-arrival safety instructions during fire emergencies. Respond to requests from officers for criminal, driving, prior contact, location and other information and operate equipment to access various law enforcement systems for that information. Use various computer programs and equipment throughout to enter and access information. Utilize current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

As an integral part of Livingston County public safety that provided 24-hour police, fire, and emergency medical response to the public. Received emergency calls and dispatched law enforcement officers, fire and/or emergency medical services throughout the County. Utilized specialized computer systems to secure necessary information for law enforcement personnel and entered information relative to warrants, personal protective orders, stolen vehicles and other such data. Continually monitored availability and location of emergency units and/or designated personnel in the field.

Received emergency and non-emergency calls for public service. Identified nature of the report and the proper agencies to respond. Provided emergency medical pre-arrival instructions. Selected proper unit(s) to respond based upon incident criteria. Dispatched appropriate resources, from Police, Fire or EMS, and alerted units of needed response. Maintained activity status records of resource units. Activated emergency warning sirens during weather emergencies.
