Benefit Coder connects benefit details with claims systems for efficient and accurate claims processing.

Submission Engine allows carriers to streamline PBP submissions and the Medicare document generation process. It helps customize Medicare Advantage plans and automate the CMS PBP submission process. It also reduces data entry and the potential for human error. Automates the Annual Notice of Change and Evidence of Coverage process compliant with all federal requirements.

Plan Builder allows insurance carriers to quickly commercialize competitive products and services. It builds plans, guided by Product Modeler application, that meet market requirements. It also associates health plans to packages that include prescription drug plans, dental and/or vision plans, or health and wellness programs.

• Developed microservices for getting benefit details.
• Implemented streamlined caching using Redis and Kryo.
• Implemented messaging pipeline between various applications using Kafka.
• Designed framework for mapping of data points in Medicare Machine application to CMS's Plan Benefit Package application.
• Designed and implemented reusable data structures in Medicare Machine application to increase Medicare plans submission speed and accuracy, which is currently being used by 3 major clients.
• Developed rules framework to apply data restrictions and data validation in Medicare Machine application.
• Upgraded log4j from version to remediate "Log4Shell" vulnerability.
• Provided client-facing support advising customers on the most effective ways to leverage their application investment.
• Implemented 'Child Plan Generator' feature in Plan Builder application to automate the process of creating separate plans for groups which have employees residing in states other than their Situs state where this group is legally located. This is in use by the fourth largest insurance company in US.
• Customized Plan Builder application to add 'Plan Archiving' feature, which allows automatic archival of plans older than a specified date, to improve application performance and overall user experience.
• Introduced RESTful APIs to create new plans from JSONs generated by upstream 'pre-marketing' application, thus speeding up plan configuration process.
• Developed framework to bypass hibernate ORM and use JDBC queries to load read-only data, leading to significant performance improvements.
• Resolved production issues in timely manner, to reduce impact on claims payment and/or mitigate impact on millions of insured members and prevent wrongful claims payouts for clients.
• Created proofs of concept for innovative new solutions.
• Analyzed and reverse engineered legacy code to enhance performance and bug fix.
• Planned and led onboarding sessions for new teammates onsite as well as offshore, on various projects.
• Planned and led interactive learning sessions on Clean Coding principles, design patterns.

Product Modeler application allows health insurers to model products based on compliance approved options. It’s the single source of truth for product rules and structure to accommodate new product features, benefits, riders and statutory mandates. It enables carriers to launch products quicker, reduce development timelines and minimize overheads.

• Implemented data load and data extraction utilities in Product Modeler to expedite bulk load of product data and boost speed to market time for new products.
• Installed guard rails and validations using Java and QVTo to strengthen data accuracy.
• Scripted model transformations using QVTo for automating mass updates to product data, for new features or error corrections.
• Performed Product Modeler version upgrades and data migrations for several clients.
• Reworked Product definition to meet individual customer demands.
• Diagnosed and corrected errors within code to allow for integration of proprietary applications.
• Lead multiple training sessions and developed training materials on Product Machine, for clients and internal teams.
