Currently work on compass bldg. 35 with Mental Health and I work with Veteran's who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, substance abuse and addiction. And on this unit we form groups to create some ice breakers and stability for them while they're being treated and it allows them to communicate with each other due to others having related diagnosis and with staff for additional information and for comfort. Also we discharge and run appointments, and transport to treatment programs.
  • Upon arrival to the unit we wand Veteran for safety of the staff and for safety of other Vets on the unit, we obtain vitals and weight for necessary medical needs. We have to keep count and make sure all Veteran's are accounted for every 2 hrs. for safety reasons. Staff all work together to maintain a safe and nonjudgmental environment for all Veteran's coming and leaving the facility.
  • Work with veterans to assist with any physical therapy to help with gaining mobility, with ambulating and range of motion, regular activities of daily living, to assure they are able to get back on their feet and ready to be discharged.
