I have reputation for strong work ethic and flexibility with varied neonatal and pediatric patient populations, with varied diagnosis.
Caring for Infants, premature and with varied clinical diagnoses from feeder growers to complex chronic infants. I am rotating from the bedside role with emphasis on primary nursing to RSN, Well Baby Nursery and NNLD roles where I had to keep the unit going by making clinical and administrative decisions or monitor and stabilize infants going through their post birth transition period. I have also precepted New Hires and New Grads!
Provided clinical instruction for BSN students throughout their pediatric rotation at LPCH, CPMC and Children's Oakland as well as supervised the Capstone Practicum for BSN students at LPCH and EL Camino.
Provided direct primary care to pediatric patients for years 2011 and 2012 under supervision of a Nurse Practitioner. From 2013-2014 I had supportive non clinical role, for the foundation, in Ukwala, Kenya, East Africa. To present I continue to collaborate with the foundation, helping with fundraiser functions from the USA.
As a Float Pool nurse my experience is extensive. I have given care to children of all ages, from 2 days old, to whatever age patients with pediatric diagnosed conditions come in at LPCH. I had to become competent in skills such as but not limited to: administering Cardiac Drips, Chemotherapy, Respiratory therapy by nebulized medication, Advance Medication Infusions, Photo-therapy for Bili Babies, Psych treatment for Eating Disorder Patients etc... I routinely worked in oncology, medical, surgical, Transplant, Cardiac, Infusions, EL Camino Satellite Unit and occasionally I worked in PICU. My job description required extreme flexibility and quick adaptation in every environment, sometimes in situations that had no policy or standard operation procedure as in taking care of the pediatric patients from the Asiana Plane Crash.
