Responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of trade general foreman, foreman, and their hourly employees to effectively execute work assignments in support of New Construction or Overhaul & Repair Construction Programs.

• Work as a team with first and second shift Area Superintendents to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement goals of each assigned project are met.
• Demonstrate a strong technical background and problem solving skills.
• Interface with all levels of EB management, operations, vendors, consultants, and military personnel, while reporting directly to the Ship Manager.
• Have a strong working knowledge of 3G/7G databases and Artemis runs.

Work independently with little to no oversight, possess an energetic and positive attitude, display strong critical thinking skills and be willing to adapt as requirements of assigned tasks change.

Manage and direct a group of Contractor personnel responsible for the technical and administrative performance of Quality Assurance/Test and control functions, performed in support of non-nuclear submarine refit and repair.

As Quality Assurance Branch Head of the Quality Assurance Division, I am responsible for:

• Ensuring the accuracy of repair work packages from a quality assurance and test standpoint.
• Monitoring and coordinating the audit and surveillance program.
• Planning, conducting and overseeing quality assurance training.
• Certification of all non-nuclear, SUBSAFE, Hull Integrity, Level I and other controlled work prior to each unit's underway.
• Reviewing and approving formal correspondence documenting completion of submarine Unrestricted Operation (URO) maintenance requirements.
• Accomplishment of the entire range of branch inspection/certification responsibilities within the broad guidelines and responsibilities set forth by the Quality Assurance Officer.
• Labor time recording, scheduling of overtime within prescribed limits.
• Training maintenance of all Contractor personnel assigned to the Quality Assurance Division.

Oversight of nondestructive (NDT) being conducted at specific Electric Boat suppliers and distributed internal manufacturing facilities. This position will provide technical evaluation, guidance, and expertise in various NDT methods such as magnetic particle testing [MT], liquid penetrant testing [PT], visual testing [VT], and ultrasonic testing [UT]. Primary responsibilities are supplier on-site evaluations and audits, witnessing re-inspections at suppliers and within the internal manufacturing facilities, monitoring supplier NDT program administration, reviewing supplier NDT training and onboarding programs, and evaluating the overall health of multiple supplier’s NDT program.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Review, administer, and ensure vendor compliance with fabrication, welding, and NAVSEA NDT specifications.
• Maintain company standards, procedures, best practices, and process improvements in the field on NDT.
• Providing technical guidance and expertise with respect to manufacturing support and problem resolution.
• Interact with multiple entities within Electric Boat, Newport News Shipbuilding, and our customer (SUPSHIP Groton, and NAVSEA) as required.
• Preparing technical reports as result of findings during oversight, research and development, and problem resolution investigations.

Responsible for but not limited to performing the following functions:

• Direct hourly employees in all disciplines of NQC Inspection.
• This will primarily include shipboard systems, surveillance and NDT inspections, but some shop work will also be required.
• The candidate will be required to work with the Cornerstone and PQS systems in order to monitor and maintain inspector training qualifications and NDT proficiency.
• The successful candidate must be familiar with nuclear inspection procedures, practices, and inspection record systems within piping, structural, and shop fabrication and installation areas.
• The ability to interpret specifications and procedures is a must.
• The candidate must understand nuclear training as required by specification and or department requirements.
• Familiarization with department direct and indirect labor budgets is desired but not essential.

Perform inspection duties throughout the facility, which includes verifying attributes for welds, structures and components. Candidates will be trained in Quality Control systems, Electric Boat procedures applicable to the work they are performing and Quality Department Instructions. Candidates must work in a collaborative environment to meet all company and organizational goals.
