My name is Elijah Gonzalez, and I'm a student at UTRGV, pursuing a major in Biology, in hopes to attend medical school and become a doctor. Currently, I'm striving to have a job as a Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) Leader at the university, to be able to help my peers to successively do well in their course, and acquire valuable time and work experience that correlates with my career path. In terms of experience, I was a Supplementary Instructor during high school for STC, which offered dual enrollment classes. I was able to help students taking challenging courses; providing them with advice and engaging activities to help them grasp information better, and interact with each other. I believe my experience, and a lot of techniques that I learned from being a Supplementary Instructor could be adapted and help tremendously as a PLTL Leader.
