• One on one experience with BSN preceptor in Medical-Surgical (MS), Operating room(OR), Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Emergency Department (ED) for 540 hours.

Medical-Surgical

• Assumed care of 6 patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse; charting,administering medications, foley catheter insertion, IV insertion and removal, discharge education and assessments.

ICU

• Administered close patient care, checked vital signs and monitored telemetry of 2 patients per shift.

OR

• Assisted in getting Informed consent from patients during the pre-operation period, preparing the clients and right instruments for the surgery.

Obstetrics

• Observed and assessed a woman and newborn during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period.

• Responded to emails and calls in timely manner.
• Collected data and followed research protocols, operations manuals and case report form requirements.
• Screened 10 patient records per shift, databases and physician referrals to identify prospective candidates for research studies.
• Collected blood samples using vacutainer tubes, tourniquets, syringes, butterfly needles, and straight needles, processed and shipped them.
• Coordinated clinical trials focused on Renal diseases.

• Contacted insurance over billing errors and settled disputes that would have otherwise prevented customers from receiving their medications.
• Utilized pharmacy's proprietary computer program to access prescription information including patient and prescriber data, drug selection, prescription interpretation and insurance billing.
• Swiftly and correctly calculated dosages, dispensed medications, prepared prescription labels and filled prescriptions for approval by pharmacists.
• Recruited, trained and guided about 6 new pharmacy technicians, improving overall performance.
