As a 2 year Nurse, I am proud to say that I have been able to provide compassionate and evidence based practice care while always remaining professional and respectful to all. Throughout the years, I have not only gained experience in delivering patient care, time management, and being a team player but I have also gained life skills that will continue to help me grow professionally. In the past two years, I have served as a preceptor to nursing students, new and experienced nurses. I recently obtained my certification in US IV insertion and currently started a new role as charge nurse. Being a team player is vital when it comes to patient care, having said this, I am a proud member of the patient care experience committee in my unit to ensure patient satisfaction while also promoting patient safety. I would like to add that I am also a healthcare safety advocate. I was recently selected as an advocate to educate staff regarding safety and different codes in our hospital. As Healthcare workers, we are prone to abuse but It is not part of our job to take the abuse. It is necessary to educate staff regarding resources and the protocols to follow according to the events that might’ve occurred. As a healthcare care worker, we must prioritize self care in order to be able to provide care to others. Lastly, In the future, I intend to obtain my Med Surg certification and my goal is to continue to make a positive impact in my patient’s care while delivering safe care to all.
