LEADERSHIP ROLES:
- As the thoracic surgical service lead RN in the Operating Room (OR), collaborates and prepares for all thoracic procedures, including robotic, ensuring safe and seamless procedures for surgical staff and surgical patients.
- As part of the robotic team, collaborates with the robotic service lead and robotic surgeons to managing supplies, updates, and trainings. Scrubs and Circulates robotic procedures including: Colorectal, Thoracic, General and Urology cases. Comfortable with troubleshooting the robot.
- Take the RN Lead Float position 15% of the time, overseeing the flow of the day, and motivated to help out both delegating and utilizing resources efficiently.
- Worked on unit base improvement projects as the Chair of the Unit Base Council (UBC) for RNs, such as real time preoperative text alerts for patients, to reduce patient related cancellations.
- Member of the Implant subcommittee, superuser for Document Storage System (DSS) and Formalin Dispensing Machine.
CIRCULATING/SCRUBBING ROLES:
- Promotes a culture of teamwork within the surgical suite by fostering open communication and collaboration among colleagues.
- Followed all personal and health data procedures to effectively comply with HIPAA laws and prevent information breaches.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient information adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Applies infection control protocols to minimize risk of complication in surgical settings.
- Supports anesthesia team, assisting with induction/extubation according to established guidelines.
- Implements time-out protocols before starting surgeries, verifying correct patient identification and procedural details.
