Over the last 4 years I have worked at Abbington first I was a CNA for 3 months and then got promoted to be a Medtech, and about 6 months now im their Care Coordinator It's been now four years that I have been working in those positions, and in those four years I have had the opportunity to care and help others not only in just a professional level but in a personal way as well, I have seen how they come with no desire to live and how the leave with a smile on their face, I have also seen how a simple smile or a "how are you?" can make their days so much better, and the love that you can develop for them is indescribable.
I can't express with words the amount of joy and happiness that they have brought into my life, along with learning a lot of things from them as well.
Being a Care Coordinator/ Med Tech can be very stressful at times.
knowing what medication to give, who to give it to, what dosage is it, trying to figure out whether the pharmacy sent the wrong dosage or not, being able to identify that its the wrong medication, being able to identify what kind of disease or sickness they are having and catching it in time. All those are such important factor that we are required to know, but knowing when, how to do it, how much effort you put in, and how to react at the moment is one of the most important things.
Being in the medical field whether you are a CNA, Medtech, Surgical Technologist, LPN, RN, or Doctor is more than just doing what you are required to do; being in the medical field is being able to understand, care, help, learn, and strive to become better day by day, being in the medical field is being able to be open to new things and being able to assist and have sympathy for others and those around you and to know that it is not always going to be perfect, that you are going to have good days as well as bad days, but that we are willing to make the most of it and learn from it if needed.
Being part of the Protocol Team at Micron has been an amazing opportunity. It has taught me how to communicate effectively in high-stress situations. I have also learned how to react quickly when needed, and how to remain calm in difficult situations. Working well within a team and taking criticism in a professional way have served me well over the past two years with at Micron.
Currently the Protocol Team is working with the Contamination Control engineering department to bring this site in alignment with the other Micron facilities. We are installing and regulating various testing equipment, all while managing the Cleanroom and the cleanliness of those working in it. It is such an amazing opportunity to be able to learn from them.
