Throughout my years working as a tutor I learned how to tailor lessons and be patient with different people to meet with their learning needs. I have developed a strong ability to communicate with students and their parents to see eye to eye on their coursework for the upcoming days. As I started to work as a lifeguard I learned how to communicate with patrons to make sure that they feel like their issues and opinions are being addressed to minimize conflicts and increase customer satisfaction. Lastly, school has taught me a lot about discipline and time management which are skills that I have translated to my work life and beyond.
At Kumon I work with students K-12 that struggle or just simply want to improve on math and reading. I am in charge of going around to their desks and making sure they understand the work they are given and on path to take the test required to level up.
As a lifeguard lead I was in charge of monitoring the safety of the patrons in the pool and well as the safety of the other lifeguards. I would open and close the pool everyday and ensure that everything in the facility was operating the way it should. Everyday I was working I would take the pH and chlorine level of the pool to make sure that it was safe for patrons to use. Lastly, I would address any issues that occurred between patrons and staff during the day.
