• Currently assisting the lab in collecting data for the CARB project: Clinical study investigating how the speed of carbohydrate availability influences brain reward responses and food preference using behavioral testing and fMRI.

Research involvement:

• Assist with participant recruitment, data collection, and behavioral testing sessions
• Observe experimental sessions involving calorimetry, blood glucose testing, and taste evaluation
• Help manage experimental drink preparation and protocol compliance
• Contribute to data entry and organization for metabolic, behavioral, and neuroimaging measures
• Gain experience with human research procedures including consent, screening, and safety protocols
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team studying nutrition, neuroscience, and metabolism

Providing compassionate, hands-on care to memory care residents while supporting their physical, emotional, and daily living needs in a clinical setting.

• Assist residents with daily living activities
• Support safe mobility, positioning, and transfers
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
• Prepare residents for meals and document nutritional intake
• Maintain a clean, safe care environment and ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
