  • This position is responsible for the development/administration of Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and Staff Development activities throughout the hospital to ensure that all state, federal, and TJC standards for care are consistently met. I collect and analyze data on hospital performance, incidents, and documentation to improve hospital performance and ensure the provision of quality care. I work closely with all department directors to recommend required staff development and tailored programs based on data analysis. This position monitors, investigates, and as required, reports all hospital incidents. In this position, I lead the quality committee, report out to the governing board, conduct root cause analysis events, and sentinel event reviews.

This position supervises residential case managers, recovery assistants, and peer coaches as assigned. It included involvement in service line development and program enhancement as well as the strategic planning committee. This position required seats on the staff development committee, QAI committee, and safety committee.

Transitional Residential Program Manager, Stepping Forward for Women

  • I was part of a team of behavioral health professionals that opened the state’s first transitional recovery home dedicated to pregnant women with opioid use disorders. This position supervised and coordinated the overall operation of the transitional residential program. I assisted with the coordination of necessary staff coverage and appropriate staff training. This included provision of shift coverage as necessary and appropriate. I participated in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision, and performance assessments. I assured staff adherence to Southwestern policies and procedures including chart maintenance, health and safety requirements, food preparation procedures, and handling of client medications. I planned and supervised the completion of program activities and responsibilities by assigning duties to staff, as appropriate. I maintained data for on-going program evaluation and improvement. I advocated on behalf of individuals with primary substance use disorders and demonstrated the ability to assess and respond to psychiatric crisis situations. I collaborated with nursing staff and attending physicians to ensure high quality medical care for clients. I developed and sustained relationships with other providers in the community to provide for on-going client needs. I completed utilization review and management using the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. I updated and maintained individualized treatment care plans. I completed ANSA reporting, state/federal NOMS, GAD-7, PHQ-9, pain assessment, nutritional assessments, social determinants of health, and the C-SSRS screeners. In this position, I was able to provide services for case management, skills groups, and individual skills training.

  • I participated in and facilitated permanency team meetings, roundtables and child and family team meetings on behalf of children and their families. The regional finance officer provided budgets to which I was able to adhere to and give real-time feedback.
