Elizabeth Kretz

I am experienced in the supervision of children grades K-5 in a before and after school program as well as all day camps (summer and holidays). I have a passion for nurturing and educating children. I have gained a deep understanding for creating & engaging children and providing a safe learning environment. I am also skilled in the development of age-appropriate activities, implementing behavior plans and creating a safe and fun setting for children. I have developed a solid rapport with the children in my care as well as their parents/guardians.

I learned so much about teaching children during my time at Antietam Academy. This is where my love for teaching began. I worked with children from age 14 months to 6th grade during my employment. Some of my duties included assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations (during COVID pandemic) while supporting an optimal learning space for children. Assisted the lead teacher in all their duties (sanitizing toys, help with snack time, arts/crafts, naps, helped with distance learning with school aged children while they could not attend school). I also communicated regularly with parents about daily activities and behaviors.

I have provided both intermittent evening babysitting for several families as well as all day summer care for 3 young boys. We often played games outside, worked on crafts or puzzles, and read books. I communicated positively with both children and their parents. I organized and cleaned up after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play room. I provided healthy snacks and meals.
