Teacher

Maconaquah School Corporation
07.2018 - 05.2021
  • Maconaquah Middle School 6th Grade Math 2018-2019 School Year
  • Pipe Creek Elementary Kindergarten 2019-2020 School Year
  • Pipe Creek Elementary 1st Grade 2020-2021 School Year
  • Taught 6th grade Math for the 2018-2019 school year. I was not licensed in Math. I have a K-6 Elementary degree but they needed a teacher and I was able to teach there for the school year. I had six Gen. Ed classes and one advanced class. I taught a variety of the Indiana Math State Standards a variety of ways.
  • In the 2019-2020 school year I switched to Kindergarten because Elementary is what I wanted to teach.
  • I had the opportunity to loop up with my kindergarten class to first grade in the 2020-2021 school year.
  • During my time in Kindergarten and First Grade I taught Reading, Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health, and Writing. During part of my Reading & Math block I would meet with small groups while the other students are doing independent work or stations. I would plan whole group and small group lessons using our Power Standards that were created within the school district and also use Indiana State Standards. Classroom management is huge for me so I would explicitly teach and model appropriate behaviors and keep track of those. Students would get rewarded for good choices. I have also worked with Instructional Assistants on how to teach different skills and lessons.
