VE/COIL

Dr. Raboune's Spring 2025 VE/COIL cohort

Awarded to students at UT Dallas who successfully completed a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project with peers at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. In international teams, students examined the neurobiology of opioid use and abuse while comparing public health responses in the U.S. and the U.K. The project combined scientific research on opioid mechanisms with analysis of healthcare systems, drug policies, and societal impacts. Students worked together to communicate complex findings, reflect on international differences, and consider global strategies for addressing the opioid crisis. The experience strengthened their scientific literacy, critical thinking, and intercultural collaboration skills.
