Skills

  • Interpersonal skills- I was part of the FDOH inaugural Leadership training pilot which stressed understanding that reaction is all in perception This allows you to step away from feeling attacked by an unhappy client, either internal or external so you can focus on the issue
  • Operations management- This is natural for me I like nothing more than to see and work a problem, make an improvement or organize it is a more efficient way For example-During Covid, I designed and set up Drive through vaccination areas in which we were able to give over 800 vaccines in one day We had clients from all over Florida come because they heard we were so efficient, all while maintaining protocols and safety in each step
  • Executive support- I have had the honor of working with amazing physicians, APRNs, Techs, LPNs, Other RNs, Political Community leaders, Agency Leaders and Educators and realtionships built in these areas have been long standing and positive
  • Customer-oriented: I received training in The Patient Centered model of care I have always been the person they referred "upset" patients to It is important to be non-judgemental, try to understand what the root cause of the upset is and thereby "hearing" the patient so that a solution can be found
  • Income generation: Worked with our IT liaison to develop a List of Services, (Group Coding) which included DX codes that staff could easily choose to ensure that services provided were not missed and that they were coded correctly For example if Main Reason for visit was, Family Planning Pill Supply, you would choose that program and Pill Supply and other services such as Smoking cessation, domestic violence assessment, Pregnancy testing would also pop up and could be chosen if provided This not only increased billing but it added to the quality of care and our HEDIS measures
  • Training and Development: Responsible for trainings of all clinical staff, Mandatory and Job Specific such as CPR/AED, N95 FIT testing, Immunization techniques and schedule, Nursing Protocols, documentation, Self-Chart Reviews, Reportable Disease requirements, OSHA, BBP and Biomedical Waste, Needlestick injury prevention and Special Needs Shelter Nursing Skills
