I began my nursing education at North Lake Community College before transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) to pursue my BSN. I am currently an AO Nursing Student, gaining hands-on experience through clinical rotations. During this time, I have developed skills in vital signs assessment, IV management, medication administration, basic patient care, hand hygiene, safety protocols, and overall continuously expanding my knowledge and skills with each clinical rotation. While I don’t have extensive healthcare experience, I am a quick learner with a strong work ethic and a willingness to put in the effort to grow as a nurse.
As a nursing home volunteer, I assisted with meal distribution, ensuring residents received their food and any necessary help. I engaged with them through conversations, games, and creative activities to promote social interaction and emotional well-being. Additionally, I helped with light personal care, such as painting nails, and contributed to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. My role focused on providing companionship and support, fostering a warm and uplifting atmosphere for the residents.
