Support the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services with District Level initiatives and compliance with New York State Part 200 Regulations.

DCSE Chairperson for in and out of district IEP development and review.

Provide administrative support to educators and student in Elementary Special Education program, including formal and informal observations and walk-throughs.

Oversee and support Brentwood students attending Out of District Placements including BOCES, NYS Approved Private Schools, Residential and Out-of-State educational placements.

Oversee and support Teachers on Special Assignment with training of staff for Annual Review Procedures and Instructional Practices.

Conduct monthly professional development for Elementary Special Education Teachers.

Primary responsibilities included conducting District level CSEs to create and support the individualized educational needs of our students. Supporting the special education and district initiatives set forth by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services. Liaising as a district representative for out of district and out of NYS educational placements. Providing professional development and support to special education teachers and case managers throughout the school year. This included updating training and support with regard to district and NYS policies and procedures. Serving as a member of the Assistant Superintendent's immediate staff providing insight and support on the elementary school level, as well as assisting with NYS indicator reviews and plans.

• 17 years of experience in multiple classroom settings including, Special Class for students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism as well as Special Class for students with Specific Learning Disabilities and a Resource Room setting.
• Developed IEPs tailored to individual student needs, ensuring their academic success and personal growth.
• Created and managed IEPs to define student learning objectives and educational strategies, in addition to applying instructional knowledge and methods to support goals.
• Promoted a positive learning environment through the use of differentiated instruction and individualized support for diverse learners.
• Modified general education curriculum for special-needs students using various instructional techniques and technologies.
