Build new sewer main and connected sewer laterals to the new main moving trench boxes and shoring and backfill all open trenches before moving to the next section of pipe.
Set up and break down trench boxes using an excavator to move the large pieces, utilizing four way chains, picker tools, clevises and industrial straps.
Moved and pinned street plates.
Used a skid loader for backfilling trenches, filling rock boxes, moving and setting equipment and sweeping the road and the end of the day.
I also used the skid loader to move piles of spoils at our dump, our dump was company owned and it was our responsibility to push piles of spoils to make room for future dumps and to spread the hydro dumps evenly so that the sun would help speed the drying process.
Used 4", 6" and 8" PVC pipe and various Ys, T's and furncos to connect sewer laterals to sewer main.
Used a saws All, and demo saw to cut pipe to measurement.
Used a concrete saw to cut the concrete before using the breaker attachment for the excavator to break precision trench line for a measured uniform trench.
Assisted coworkers with survey equipment to ensure the sewer main is at the proper grade.
At the end of the day I would make sure that the work site was safe and secure putting fence around open trenches, making sure street plates were level and secured. Making sure that all tools and equipment are stored safely and securely, locking all equipment and storage trailers and sweeping up any dirt and debris with the skid loader sweeping attachment.
We completed a city wide sewer main replacement for the city of Creve Cour and when the job was completed I was asked by the owner to learn Hydroexcavation so I got my CDL and started training to do hydro excavation and I have been doing hydro excavating for the past two years.
Welded track frames for John Deere skid loaders. Using a jig I placed all of the pieces of the particular track in the jig and tacked them in place, after tacking all of the pieces together in the precise place I would remove the part from the jig and run a weld bead on all of the required seams, then using an overhead lift I would move the frame to a pallet, add the paperwork and use the forklift to take it to the paint department.
I started out as an inventory manager performing cycle counts and monitoring inventory and placing orders for low stock. I also did investigations for missing parts and materials. They offered an in house training class for MIG welding so I signed up and passed the welding exam and was moved to the welding department where I remained for approximately a year and a half before moving back to my house town to help care for my parents and starting work at Above and Below
