This position consists of answering emails , taking phone calls and checking client’s in for their schedule appointments. We schedule surgeries after a consultation is set up or schedule consultation if needed for these. We send estimates , count the cash in the morning and afternoon. We ensure the lobby is clean and reminders are sent to owners and upcoming appointments or upcoming services that need to be completed. We answer questions that owners may have in regards to their pet or refill medications if needed.
As a receptionist I am required to answer calls from pet parents regarding specific or general questions and help them learn more on the facility . I am also required to book reservations and handle problems that any occur from pet parents and handle them in a professional manner . Throughout the day i complete a list full of chores to get finished by the end of my shift .
During this potion for the first hour we help kennel techs let the dogs use the restroom and mark if they urinated or defecated. Once rotation is complete we start going down our list of playtimes and do either individual playtimes with dogs on the list. This playtime can take 15 minutes or longer depending on the package they order. Once playtime is over we set their water out for 15 minutes and place it back.
In this position I take care of the animals and ensure that their enclosures are clean and make sure everyone has been fed. I make sure that the water is clean and filled and check if they need a refill of food or hay if they require it. I can transfer to many roles like coverage for cashier and helping pet parents on the floor find the perfect food,toy or even pet for them. During my shift we also care for the sick pets that had to be taken off the floor due the illness and new pets that have to be quarantined before going on the sales floor all while completing closing or opening tasking like cleaning up the store, changing the filters in the tanks, make everyone sure all pets are set for the night or day.
My responsibilities include unpacking shipment , customer service , and making sure everything is clean and tidy and that everything is the place it is suppose to be in throughout the day . I work on the floor and register depending of what is needed at the time . Some of my responsibilities include packing orders , pickups , helping customers and sharing our latest deals. I make sure the clearance is stacked correctly as well as selling shoes and reaching my end goal for the day.
During this job I gained a lot more knowledge on multitasking. My responsibilities including being a cashier , making smoothies and prepping the fruits and cleaning the dishes. We need to make the smoothies in a timely matter and clean the blender immediately after. We prep for pickup and make sure no fruits are expired in the back and make sure to rotate the fruits accordingly.
