Ella Hinkie

SUA is an organization at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where I hosted weekly Bingo events by planning logistics, selecting prizes, and assisting with marketing materials. I also independently organized and executed standalone events, managing all aspects from planning to hosting. In addition, I conducted daily evaluations of program activities to ensure objectives were met, built partnerships with local organizations and community groups to expand activity options and resources, and designed and distributed promotional materials that boosted event participation and engagement.

I provided a safe and nurturing environment for children by organizing engaging activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, and educational outings to museums and parks. I instructed proper hygiene habits to promote healthy living, prepared nutritious meals and snacks, and engaged children in interactive play to encourage learning and development. In addition, I performed light housekeeping duties related to childcare, including washing dishes and tidying play areas, while fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians through open communication about their child’s progress.

Java Jive is a coffee booth at the MN State Fair. I prepared specialty coffee drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, mochas, and Americanos. I provided excellent customer service by responding to inquiries quickly and professionally. I ground beans for espresso shots according to individual customer specifications. I operated cash registers to process customer payments. I greeted customers and took orders for coffee drinks, food items, and other beverages. I adhered to health department regulations concerning sanitation standards. Finally, I maintained a clean work environment by wiping down counters, washing dishes, and cleaning floors.

I supported daily food service operations by prepping sides such as butter and soups, organizing food orders to ensure accuracy, and communicating special dietary needs or allergies to servers. I delivered food to guests promptly while upholding safety protocols and checked all dishes before service to maintain quality standards. Additionally, I followed proper sanitation guidelines, cleaned and sanitized work areas, assisted with clearing tables, and kept supplies such as napkins, silverware, glassware, and plates fully stocked to ensure smooth shift operations.
