My goal as a substitute teacher is to provide a positive learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher. As a substitute teacher, I do my best to follow the plans left by the classroom teacher. This includes any instructional directions, behavior management instructions, and other information provided to maintain a safe learning environment for students. When unplanned circumstances arise or information is not provided, I rely on my experience in a middle school classroom to guide me through the situation. It goes without saying, if I am unsure of something, I reach out to my immediate supervisor.
