Ellen Riddle

My current position involves running the residential sector of the business. I organize volunteers, map out local routes in surrounding regions, and provide accessible composting services for residents in the town of Boone and surrounding High Country. I oversee the maintenance of our residential static compost system, carrying out proper techniques to allow the production of high quality soil for our community.

As an intern, I took on several operations of the business, including mapping routes for volunteers, assisting in the construction of two large windrow sites, and building several functional composting systems. Additionally, I collaborated with the Agricultural Extension to support ongoing projects.

This position involved community outreach - leading workshops and demonstrations on various compost systems, as well as tabling at Farmer's Markets and other local events to engage the public in sustainable practices Collaborating with fellow board members, I contributed strategic decision-making in the best interests of the business and assisted in the development of monthly plans and initiatives.
