  • Served as a cabin counselor, canoe building instructor and trip co-leader for the first summer session.
  • Supervised group activities, ensuring safety and engagement among campers.
  • Prior to becoming a staff member, participated in the Leadership Development and Advanced Canoeing (LDAC) during the summer of 2023. LDACs learn technical skills (including whitewater canoeing) and interpersonal skills required to lead wilderness trips. Traveled 360 kms over 16 days in Ontario and Manitoba.
  • Served as Counselor In Training (CIT) during the summer of 2024, immersed in a hybrid camper-staff role. Provided support to campers in cabins and completed the Methye Portage trip in North Saskatchewan, Canada, that connects Lac La Loche (part of the Churchill River watershed) to the Clearwater River.

The Keep Smiling Award in Memory of Christine Pappalardo Greif

Dickinson College Cross Country Team · Dec 2025

Christine Pappalardo Greif was a four-year member of the Dickinson College Cross-Country team from 1987-1991.  While training for a triathlon in 1997 she was hit by a drunk driver and left severely disabled.  She would never run again; or even walk and talk.  However, with a lot of support from her husband Bob and her family, Christine bravely continued to live and found ways to enjoy her life.

I Can Build a Boat, Canoe? - Senior Project Honors Designation

Senior Projects allow students to explore topics, research questions, understand processes, and experience the non-linear nature of product development during the second semester of their senior year. This project explored the history and significance of canoes in four Indigenous communities, highlighting how constructing and using canoes builds community and reflects the needs and values of people around the world who use them.
