  • Presently I am assigned to Inmate Services Division of the Alexandria Sheriff's Office
  • My responsibilities: Purchasing, Report and contract writing, program analysis; program data input; maintain and monitor weekly programs for inmates' participation
  • I am also responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the current programs to make necessary adjustments for improvement or replace programs with others that have measurable results
  • I am to research and implement new programs that will aid those incarcerated with successful re-entry in society
  • I teach life skill classes in the Program units; state mandated classes for state prisoners and certification classes to those inmates who are interested
  • Supervise Inmates who are serving alternative sentences – Home Electronic Monitoring, Work Release and Modified Work Release

  • OAR Fairfax County, 07/2012, 12/2014, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Directors, As a board member my responsibilities include budget review; programs and services review; provide directional assistance to the Director of OAR; assist in the development of plans of actions to enhance services provided and operational efficiency; and to assist in finding new sources of funding.
  • Beacon Project, Board of Advisors, The Beacon Project was launched out of Fairfax County OAR and grant funded. It was modeled after the Delancy Street Project in San Francisco, Ca. who mission was and has to establish a self-sustaining community comprised of men who were ex-offenders. As a Board of Directors my responsibilities included to assist in the upstart and to advise on the steering direction of this program as it took shape and form; advised on the infrastructure and its implementation; to review and advise on some of the reported setbacks and hurdles encountered after launch.
