The Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement is a USDA office that shares

information about USDA resources, grants, and programs with various communities, including veterans, underrepresented farmers, new farmers, students, nonprofit organizations, and higher education institutions. At USDA I

worked directly for the Educational Initiatives National Program Manager and performed the following duties:

· Supported twenty-five USDA liaisons who worked at higher educational institutions across the nation, and specifically assisted the liaisons as they prepared to bring 90+ students to DC for a National Scholars Orientation.

· Addressed questions about travel to and around Washington DC and how to navigate around USDA headquarters area.

· Responded to inquiries from USDA visitors and routinely determined their nature of business to ensure that visitors were directed to the appropriate person or office.

· Prepared a variety of correspondence, which included letters and program completion certificates, using a personal computer. Verified the accuracy of certificates against selection data to ensure that students were not overlooked during graduation ceremonies.

· Created packages, labels and documents for distribution and records. Also assisted with organizing and distributing required wellness items to scholars attending the National Scholars Orientation.

· Kept appraised of my supervisor's calendar to anticipate event requirements and to address concerns in advance. Worked flexible hours as required to ensure that event requirements were not overlooked.

· Performed all relevant duties and special projects as requested or assigned.
