Leadership Activities / Community Involvement

  • Local Elementary Sonography Book Reading . With hopes of inspiring young children, I planned for the FHSU Sonography class of 2025 to visit a kindergarten classroom as "mystery readers". During our time, we read a children's book based on an ultrasound experience of a young girl. By doing this, our desire was to further educate the children on ultrasound. Thus, motivating the future of health care.
  • FHSU Sonography & Radiology Mentoring Events In network with leaders of the X-ray program, I was able to help plan mentoring events that allows future ultrasound and x-ray students of FHSU to collaborate with professors and program students.
  • Community Involved Fundraisers In wishing of education expansion at the National Sonography Conference, I planned multiple community involved fundraisers in hopes of funding the trip to New Orleans, Louisiana. These fundraisers included; Sonography and Radiology Apparel, A "Split-the-Pot" fundraiser hosted at a FHSU Men and Women's basketball game, and a trash bag sale that began in the spring. These fundraisers, along with FHSU allocation money, allowed for my sonography class to gain advanced knowledge within the field of ultrasound. Which allows us to better our local health care system.
  • FHSU "College Days" By attempting to further advocate for the impressive Medical Imaging programs that FHSU provides, "college days" allow for hundreds of students from surrounding high schools to visit various programs that interest them. I was able to assist in the planning/demonstrating of this event. Allowing kids from across Kansas the opportunity to see what amazing majors FHSU has.
  • Fort Hays State University Tiger Food Pantry With my time at Fort Hays State University, I have learned that small acts, make the largest impact. Which is why myself and my sonography classmates were excited to help with the restocking of the tiger food pantry.
