• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care unit monitoring and stabilizing immediate post surgical patients until they are ready for the next phase of care. This involves skills such as being able to critically analyze and recognize when a patient is declining and how to intervene with the collaboration of anesthesia staff and a medical team as well as being able to treat pain, manage patent airways, know how to approach fresh incisions, and interpret cardiac events immediately post surgery.

• Staff Nurse on a cardiac Tele-StepDown Unit from 6-20-2015 until September 2020. I learned how to manage cardiac IV drips, was NIH stroke certified, managed an assignment of patients in collaboration with a medical team, became familiar with post cardiac cath patients, and have some charge nurse experience, in addition to many other things involved on a nursing floor.
• Became Staff Nurse on Same Day Surgery and PACU in September of that year providing perioperative care.

I finished my nursing degree and went from CNA to staff nurse

Provided basic care and helped residents perform activities of daily living
