• Post operative care to open heart, vascular, and thoracic patients. Managed post-operative Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), post-thoracotomy, VATs, and TEVAR.

• Maintained chest tubes, surgical drains, and arterial and central lines on all post-op patients.

• Had the opportunity to float to Level I Trauma Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU to care for post-operative gunshot wounds, car accidents, craniotomies, and strokes.

• Daily management of Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for cardiac and pulmonary patients with volume overload, metabolic acidosis, and electrolyte abnormalities. Served as a superuser for Prismaflex to Prismax training.

• Daily exposure to patients requiring cardiac devices such as pulmonary artery catheters, CVP, arterial and venous sheaths, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), Impella CP and Impella 5.5, transvenous pacemakers, and as well as other cardiogenic shock patients requiring continuous monitoring of CVP, cardiac index, blood pressure and frequent titration of vasopressors and intropes with close collaboration with cardiology and pulmonary intensivists.

• Served as response team for CODE BLUE situations hospital-wide, with experience with IO placement and facilitation of patients to the ICU for possible post-cardiac arrest interventions, including therapeutic hypothermia.

• Served as a role model and mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patients satisfaction, preceptor for the unit for new graduate employees.
