A hard working, dedicated individual devoted to care for others in need. As a student in high school, I trained to become a Certified Nursing Assistant working with geriatric patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. After graduating, I worked in a lower functioning group home with special needs adults. After working as a physical therapist aide for over a year, I attended Goodwin University to study the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. This program gave me a lot of experience to show that resiliency is possible. While I was still in school, I became a published author and wrote my first children's book about learning to deal with grief & loss in a positive way. Once sharing my story, I began visiting schools & programs every week to help those in need who have dealt with losing a loved one. Having this experience, I feel inspired to share my compassion and willingness to help others in diverse settings.
