Hobbies and Volunteering

  • In June 2019 I traveled with the Missions.Me agency to Piura, Peru to assist in their 1Nation1Day humanitarian event. I spent 11 days volunteering with the medical team to provide acute care to over 5,000 Peruvians in need of care. We had a triage tent, a pharmacy tent, and 4 procedural tents that provided general medicine care, physical therapy, optical care, and dental care. I spent most time assisting in the triage tent taking vitals, gathering patient information, and triaging them to the appropriate station. When I wasn't helping the triage tent, I assisted in the dental and general medicine procedural tents. I cleaned and sterilized procedural tools, provided tools during procedures, and assisted the patients when possible.
  • I own and maintain 4 fish tanks and a pond that I built for my turtle. I enjoy creating an ecosystem and comfortable environment for my aquatic friends. There is a lot of science involved with making sure the chemicals are just right for a healthy habitat.
