Emily Fryar

Student teacher currently leading two English III courses and one Newspaper course at Wakefield High School in Raleigh, NC. Experience delivering differentiated instruction to students, creating and utilizing standards-based lesson plans and assessments, managing students' behavior in the classroom, developing meaningful connections with students, and analyzing learners' performance data to drive future instruction. Additional experience including customer service, clerical support, and public interaction. Resourceful, energetic, and results-oriented multitasker.

I have had the privilege of gaining invaluable field experience during my time as a student at Appalachian State University. I have worked with the leaders of Watauga High School's after-school program to help plan, run, and creatively engage in the recurring event. Additionally, I have gained teaching experience and educational insight into the expectations of educators from the 10 weeks that I spent engaging with Kourtney Rabinowitz's 10th-grade English class at Watauga High School. Now, I am taking the lead in teaching both of Joy Tekotte's 11th-grade English classes, as well as her Newspaper class, at Wakefield High School.
