Emily Orga

My career objective is to become a veterinarian. By completing my externship at Miami Zoo, I would be able to complete my program for assistant and be one step closer in my career path. I have learned a lot of skills and objectives that are beneficiary for my future career. I have learned different practices for different scenarios and knowledge that will be crucial for my future. This will be useful in the practices and the studies for these upcoming years. I have had the amazing opportunity to build friendship in the clinic and build trust with the technicians which resulted in allowing me to participate and be a helping hand when need.

• -I have studied Italian for 4 years and I can now understand well and speak Italian fluently.
• -I have volunteered in the animal shelter for a year and got the chance to meet many veterinarians and learn the way the shelter works along with the clinic. I have learned so many lessons and strategies that will be useful for my future career as a veterinarian.
• -I was unable to continue volunteering at the shelter since I was attending 6 classes a day, but after receiving my AA, I was able to accommodate my schedule to have the opportunity to work.
• -I also have participated in many activities in school and in the Miami Dade Animal shelter to increase my teamwork ability and I learned many ways to help the veterinary technicians when help was needed.
• – I am currently taking the required course to be able to apply to vet school in the future.
