My motivation for joining the Schlaepfer Lab is to build the foundation for a long-term research journey that aligns with my goal of applying to medical school in 2029 and ultimately becoming an OB/GYN physician. By 2027, I hope to be deeply involved in a full research project from mastering the experimental workflow to contributing meaningfully to data analysis and interpretation. With sustained effort, I aim to reach a level of contribution that allows me to participate in manuscript writing and, if possible, earn a co-authorship based on genuine scientific input. I see this lab experience not just as technical training, but as a critical stage in developing the curiosity, discipline, and scientific thinking that I will carry into both my medical career and future research in women’s health.
