Lead APP for Clinical Decision Unit of Emergency Department. Duties include oversite of clinical operations to include staffing, operational planning, and quality assurance. New emergency department opened while lead APP in which utilization of APPs in ED implemented under my guidance. Time is spent split between administration and clinical shifts in CDU and in emergency department.

Landmark provides care to the most medically vulnerable patients within the community by providing home visits to help prevent chronic illness exacerbations as well as treat acute illness safely in the comfort of patients home. As the Urgentavist, my role primarily provides medical care and mangement to patients at a moments notice, prescribing appropriate diagnostics and interventions to avoid unnecessary transfers to hospital emergency rooms and subsequental acute admissions.

• Provider for inpatient liver transplant surgery team.
• Responsibilities include medical workup of patient pre-operative and medical management of patients post-operative. Completed history and physicals, daily progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Joined the surgery team on organ procurement as well as transplant surgery in the operating room.  At times functioned as first assist.
• For the year following surgery, continued to care for patients, managing any acute illness or surgical complications.
• Specific management of medical complicated patients to include: proper immune-suppression to prevent organ rejection and prophylactic medications to prevent acute viral and bacterial infections
  

• Medical provider for Senior Health Services in a military community. The clinic provided primary health care to six nursing homes in the surrounding area. Time was split between clinic and long term care facilities.
• Primary responsibilities include managing the health care needs of the geriatric population to include a high percentage of veterans in Fayetteville, NC. Primary provider to the skilled care facilities which included managing medications and providing support to the staff in the incident of acute illness.
• Position was included in US Department of Health and Human Services National Health Service Corporation
  
• Participated in planning of hospice care for elderly and disabled patients.
• Worked part time/overtime in urgent care clinic and psychiatry clinic during nights and weekends.

• Instructor nutrition based lectures and co-instructor for geriatric medicine course.
• Responsibilities include writing and preparing for weekly lectures, text question administration and review sessions.
• Preceptor to Physician Assistant students with an interest in internal medicine and geriatric medicine with an average of 6 students per year over a 8 week period.
