02/26/25, Shannon Magge, Director of Nursing, Allegheny Health Network, 1545 East 10th Street, Erie, PA, 16511, Dear Ms. Magee, I found out about your posting for the Registered Nurse position at Allegheny Health Network. As a soon-to-be graduate of Penn State Behrend with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I am eager to utilize my clinical background to add value to your company. I've long respected Allegheny Health Network's focus on compassionate, patient-centered care, which mirrors my own values, and I would be honored to work for such an organization. Through my clinical rotations in the Level 3 ICU, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, and Oncology departments, I have been trained in delivering care to a wide variety of patients. These rotations gave me essential skills like conducting patient assessments, monitoring vital signs, and supporting complex procedures in high-pressure settings. Out of all the experiences I gained, the Operating Room was the most impactful, as I learned the significance of sterility prior to procedures, as well as how to efficiently operate as a unit among a staff of 8 in a time-sensitive environment. I also participated in health promotion projects in the community which allowed me to engage with underserved populations and spread the word about wellness. In addition to my clinical training, I have experience as a Nursing Assistant at Manchester Commons Nursing Home and a Patient Care Technician on the Neurology/Stroke Unit at UPMC Hamot. These positions helped me to understand the basics of providing compassionate direct care to patients in all states of healing. During this time, I learned how to check vitals, aid patients in transferring from beds to wheelchairs and helped with rehabilitation, but more than that, I gained a deep respect for patients and a respect for how to best work with other professionals in the health profession to produce the optimal patient experience. I really believe that my background in clinical experience, hands-on care, and dedication to personal growth would be an excellent addition to your team. I would be excited to discuss how I might help your nursing team and hope to have the opportunity to work at Allegheny Health Network. Sincerely, Emir Pehlic
