Emma Allen

I work with other employees and gardeners to plant and grow sustainable, pesticide free, native and Colorado adapted plants. I perform an abundance of manual labor tasks, and have the capacity to work and organize with landscapers and individuals looking to create beautiful and sustainable green spaces around Boulder County and beyond. I am one of the most prolific growers in the wholesale department, and provided my freedom in my employment I have had the ability to expand my knowledge and experience with various tasks. The flexibility of the workplace has given me experience in a variety of skills which are easily transferable across a number of fields, such as organization, communication, the ability to perform heavy manual labor tasks efficiently and effectively, as well as supplemented my knowledge of native Colorado flora and the outdoors.

I worked as an organizational associate in the warehouse section of the store at night working to unload merchandise from the delivery truck trailers, as well as stock the products and maintain inventory.

I nannied two young boys throughout the work week while both their parents were employed. I organized daily chore lists for them as well as assisted in around the house activities such as laundry, dishes, cooking, and cleaning. I also tended to the farm animals the family possessed and aided in other rural labors. It gave me great experience working with children by modeling good organizational skills and time management for two impressionable young boys, as well as helping develop their work ethic while simultaneously creating a fun environment for them in their day to day lives.

I was a cleaning assistant to a veterinarian, essentially aiding in providing a sterile work space for surgeries, check-ups, and other veterinary tasks. I cleaned utensils, sterilized surfaces, and assisted in caring for animals being held at the establishment for treatment. I gained a lot of insight into the more practical aspects of the field, as well as expanded my knowledge of the management of medical occupations.
