• Perform routine inspections on a variety of aircraft such as Piper, Cessna, Aeronca, and Dehavilland in accordance with manufacture's specifications and FAA Regulations
• Troubleshoot engine issues, electrical problems, and other aircraft system discrepancies as they arise
• Complete major fabric repairs and recover projects using systems such as Poly-Fiber, Stewart's System, and Airtech.
• Utilizing full PPE, prepare and paint surfaces such as metal, fiber glass, and fabric. Specializing in polyurethane, epoxies, vinyl based and water based products
• Research and carry out modifications in accordance with STC's and manufacturers instructions
• Organize and maintain aircraft records to industry standards

Alaska EXCEL is a non-profit organization providing supplemental academic, career, and technical education intensives for rural youth and young adults across Alaska.

• Create power point slideshows, organize materials needed for instruction, and create hands-on projects simulating real world tasks as an A&P Mechanic
• Teach 10-day and month long "Intro to Aviation Maintenance" classes to high-school aged students
• Plan and implement lessons using various teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and maintain student engagement
• Assess student performance through shop projects, quizzes, and oral review
• Incorporate employability skills complimentary to being an A&P Mechanic
• Mentor students pursuing aviation as a career after high school

Build-A-Plane is a non-profit program designed to promote aviation by giving high-school aged students the opportunity to construct and restore real airplanes under the guidance and instruction of experienced mechanics.
