Emma Black

Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA)- Became a member as a sophomore. Competed in "Healthy Living" as a junior at the South Carolina State Leadership Conference and placed first. Continued to compete internationally and placed eighth.

National Honors Society Officer- Exceeded the requirements to join the organization as a junior. Was selected to serve as a secretary for senior year. The organization values leadership, character, and service. 

Mu Alpha Theta Officer- Exceeded the requirements to join the Math Honors Society as a junior. Was selected to serve as a public relations officer for senior year. Participated in college-level mathematics competitions. 

Children's Ministry Volunteer- Volunteered each Sunday morning starting in eighth grade to manage, teach, and take care of children in first and second grade. Recently switched to helping with sixth graders. 

First Priority President- Became a member as a sophomore. Began leading small groups and organizing activities during junior year. Participated in weekly summer training before senior year. 

Red Cross Club President and Founder- Started the Red Cross Club at Riverside High School at the beginning of junior year. Communicated with local organizations to put together service projects. Worked with the local Red Cross Chapter to expand the club to benefit the community.
