• Under the direction of Nurse Preceptor, have developed proficiency in assessing, monitoring and delivering nursing care to acute respiratory patients.
• Honed nursing skills in monitoring respiratory status, delivering oxygen therapy, monitoring ventilator settings, and communicating any complications to the multidisciplinary team.
• Gained experience with advanced respiratory therapies, including high-flow oxygen, BiPAP systems, and mechanical ventilation.
• Delivered patient-centered care to individuals requiring long-term mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy management in an acute rehabilitation setting.
• Participated in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support the weaning process for ventilator-dependent patients, optimizing respiratory function, and quality of life.

• Under the direction of an RN, became familiar with providing patient-centered care for multiple patient populations, including adult neurology, cardiology, medical, postoperative patients, as well as care for mothers and children during labor and delivery.
• Practiced honing skills for obtaining a detailed nursing assessment, as well as how to implement and evaluate pertinent nursing care plans for these diverse medical and surgical populations.
• Became familiar with safe and accurate medication administration to varied populations.
• Became proficient in hemodynamic monitoring, monitoring accurate I/O's, and glucose monitoring.
• Assisted in wound care monitoring, and dressing changes for complex wounds, as well as post-operative wound care and management.

• Observed and participated in the nursing assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care for this specific population.
• Assisted in delivering age-appropriate patient care and support to families.
• Participated in educating patients and families about treatment plans and procedures.
