Interventional Radiology (special procedures)

Responsibilities include pre-op/recovery, procedures, stroke intervention, and vascular access. This included IVs, lab draws, taking pertinent history, providing conscious sedation, airway/vital sign/cardiac monitoring, keeping patients/family informed and updated.

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

Responsible for the care of patients of patients during the post-anesthesia experience, This includes airway monitoring, ventilator support, critical care medication administration and monitoring. Patients are readied for transfer to acute care or discharged as acuity permits.

REGISTERED NURSE/MANAGER

Responsible for the care of patients throughout epidural /intrathecal procedures including procedural sedation, airway/cardiac/vital sign monitoring. This included pre-op preparation, scrubbing/circulating cases, and post-op recovery. Excellent communication skills were imperative.

Worked on a rotating schedule between Pre-op/OR/Recovery Room. At HKSC, I also worked Pain Clinic. Responsible for IV initiation/med administration conscious sedation, instrument/case set-up, scrubbing/circulating, recovery, and maintaining open lines of communication between patients/family and staff.
