  • Advanced from new graduate to a Clinical Nurse II over 2 years. Cared for patients in all perinatal stages: antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum recovery. Managed many acute conditions and complications including, but not limited to, preterm labor/birth, preeclampsia, shoulder dystocia, placental abruption, stat c-sections, postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, blood transfusions, and sepsis, FDIU. Served as circulator nurse in operating room for c-sections, dilation and curettage, and cerclages, as well as the PACU nurse for procedure recovery. Served as alternate chair on Quality Council and represented the unit at Quality Improvement Summit, presenting data on SCD compliance on the unit.

  • Served as federal Affordable Care Act navigator with Legal Aid of NC during the ACA open enrollment period to help NC enrollees understand their health insurance options and enroll/re-enroll. Led the Duke volunteers in the 2020 enrollment period.
