As a substitute teacher I followed classroom plans left by the teacher to continue student education. I had to enforced school and class rules to maintain order in classroom, while still having fun. Being a substitute teacher you have a very strict scheduled routine for the whole day that you must follow. Making connections with the kids so they feels safe to ask questions to grow their own learning experience. I also had to work with other teachers to gather all materials I would need for the day or week, as well as asking questions when i was not familiar with something. Being in a team and relying on each other to over come obstacles. Getting paper work in by a set due date is very important whether that is grading papers, entering grades into the computer, contacting parents or even doing attendance in the morning I have set times to meet to get these things done. I have been repeatedly requested as a substitute teacher based on my past times working at the school. The teachers trust me to be able to continue on where their lesson plans left off, as well as giving tests knowing the kids will learn it all and not fall behind, instead of just giving them busy work until the teacher returns to the school.

Working at Starbucks I had to manage high stress situations effectively everyday, while maintaining a positive attitude. We had standards set that I had to implement, as well as training new employees who came in. I kept employees operating productively and working on tasks to meet the business and customer needs. Being punctual and eager to work were a big part of the job. The most important was connecting with the customers and helping ease their day. Whether I was taking orders, making drinks, getting food, restocking product, cleaning up spills, managing money or cleaning the store and locking up at the end of the night, I always had a positive mindset. Not bringing outside problems into my workspace and having a clear mind, doing my best to equally have fun at work while still being productive for the business.
