I enjoy working with others and have learned to be an effective communicator through my experience's of being the President of National Junior Honor Society and Editor for the Yearbook. My experience babysitting and working at my church's annual summer camp, working with young students, has taught me patience and how to create a positive experience for kids.
In 2023-2024, I was the assistant Editor, so I was taught everything I would need to be in this position by that current year's Editor. This current school year, I am the Yearbook Editor in my Publications class. I oversee everything that happens in the yearbook and assist anyone who may need help with the technology, communicating with other students, etc.
For the last two summers, during the first week of August, I have helped with my church's annual summer camp for young students (K-5). In the mornings from 9-12 we run games, lead the kids in activities, and retell moments in the Bible with stories and plays. In the afternoon we provide daily community service projects. For example, this most recent summer (2024), we went and visited adults with special needs at Bridge of Promise. We essentially threw them a big "party" with balloons, games, karaoke, and more. It was not only fun, but a moment that change how I help those in similar mental and physical positions.
