Summary

Dedicated individual experienced in working with various kinds of communities, from Developmental disabilities, different socioeconomic and ethnic as well as racial backgrounds. Talented at assisting others with daily living tasks, including communication and emotional responses. Committed to improving overall well-being through personal care and interactive engagement. Working with so many different kinds of individuals from various backgrounds has really interested me in teaching. For a very long time I was active in many diversity and inclusion groups centered around black youth. Such as NAACP youth council, AAYLC or the African American Youth leadership conference, OYSP or the Oregon young scholars program, I also am a proud Girl scout, with experience babysitting a few kids who have had Autism, ADHD and other developmental differences when It comes to learning. First of all, working with them was such an enriching and enlightening experience. As a person, young leader but teacher in the making. I think it's a beautiful, crazy, wonderful and at times challenging experience to be able to learn as you are changing your ways of how you communicate with younger generations, and then how you are able to impact their views and interactions with the world. Growing up in Eugene, One thing I am very grateful for is the Amazing mentors that were placed into my life. It made a huge difference for me to be able to see and talk to elders in their various fields who were actively working towards creating safer, happier and more inclusive spaces for not only black youth but for future communities. I could go on about the mental, emotional, and psychological impact positive encouragement , representation and community have on a developing mind and person, from one's confidence and courage, to the shaping of their core values and overall character.(from What I've noticed in my life) I think that when you are able to be those role-models, even in small ways, and even for anything. As a carefree black girl or woman, man, loving yourself and expressing it in whatever way that may be, it sends the message to the youth that they can be whatever or whoever they want. That they can wear what they want, dress as they want, look as they want and that it’s okay. That they can dare to question, to rebel, to create, and to truly live and experience the world for the good it can be but often isn't in their own ways and with their individuality and creativity, which is often expressed in dress. Not everyone is promised or granted, or even allowed a happy, fulfilling or even a long life. So why not just do you? The way you want. That's one thing my father taught and modeled for me in his life and it's a value I hold dear. Because if there's one thing many won't teach you in life, It's to truly be happy and to carry it with you wherever you go and no matter the circumstance. In the same sense that everyone needs community and to feel as if they belong and are welcome in spaces. That's what I like to bring to environments. Growing up Black and African in a predominantly white area and community, feeling safe, heard and welcome isn't something I always felt in Eugene or Oregon. That was difficult to deal with, being the generally social person I am. However, in creating healthy and safe spaces, for all people in positions of power and influence, you not only create loyal customers but you grow your business through relationships and community. I tend to bring that. (I think, or It's something I like to grow) As I previously said, I am different and at times that complicates other people's perceptions of me. I am hard-working and loyal, caring and usually pretty open, once hired, that is something I plan to bring with me each day. Many people, shop, eat and enjoy services as forms of therapy or as self comforts, and I like to think I am generally good at encouraging others to buy and purchase things that fit their needs and wants, style, personality etc given that I myself like to eat and look at/purchase things that make me feel happy and good about myself. A lot of people also like to copy me so there's customers right there.

Singing, Writing, Dancing

Some of my favorite hobbies include singing, writing and dancing. My writing is creative prose. I also like to narrate illusions, references and religious stories. I've been singing in state choirs since elementary school, it is a passion of mine that I love to share for connection and empowerment. My dancing has been a way to openly collaborate with others, share my cultural history in the audience of my community.
