Birss Fellowship Program
Professor John Howard Birss, Jr. Memorial Library Fund" at Roger Williams University 'a significant or culturally impactful book is chosen annually to be honored. In my case, a peer and I traveled with Author Adam Braver to the Columbia University Archives. There, we took a look into Stephan Crane, the author of the Classic 'Red Badge of Courage'. Following research, we then designed a exhibit for the school library and ran poetry groups using Crane's written word. We also created a brochure and invited a guest speaker. Overall, it was an amazing, enriching, experience.
