San Luis Obispo,United States

Summary

I am a second year Environmental Management and Protection major at California Polytechnic State University. Throughout my college experience I have maintained a 3.8 GPA. I am excited to be pursuing a career in fields related to environmental restoration and wildlife conservation, since these are issues I am passionate about.

I have also greatly enjoyed the extracurriculars I have joined, and I am very proud of the research lab I am a part of.

Since I joined the Physiology and Ecology of Reptiles lab at California Polytechnic State University, I have worked with multiple graduate students conducting research in PERL with Dr. Emily Taylor. During the previous 2022-2023 academic year, I focused my energy on two projects.

I assisted with capturing and gathering data on endangered blunt nosed leopard lizards under permit in the Carrizo Plains. I also worked on a blood plasma storage study, conducting literature review and collecting data using an osmometer.

This fall I have joined a group working on a California newt research project involving both laboratory and field work.

I have developed my knowledge of environmental issues and wildlife biology throughout my education as an Environmental Management and Protection Major at California State Polytechnic University. I am looking for an opportunity to put my energy and passion into concrete work. I am at heart, a creative, and highly motivated person. My skill sets lend themselves to teamwork, problem solving, and anticipating the needs of my position. I make sure to do work I am proud of, and I am always looking for ways to go above and beyond for the projects I work on. I enjoy collaborating within groups. I can step into leadership positions, when necessary, but I also know how to take feedback and adapt as needed.
