Philosophy Statement

As a music educator, my philosophy centers around fostering a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music. I would like to inspire a lifelong love of music in students and encourage the artistic growth of individuals through choral education. I am committed to creating an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals can discover the power of their voices, develop strong musicianship skills, and have meaningful musical experiences. I believe that music can connect individuals across cultures and generations, and I believe that my role as a music educator is to teach the technical skills and knowledge to help students grow in musical proficiency, as well as understand and appreciate music as a means of self-expression, cultural reflection, and emotional resonance. I would like to create an environment where students find joy in making and experiencing music, and will positively contribute to the world around us because of it.
