- For just under two years, I have worked as both a Runner and Counselor for a children's after school program called High 5

- This job entails assisting the kids with whatever they need such as help with their homework, or being a shoulder to lean on, while also constantly monitoring the group and ensuring that each child is safe

- Aside from managing and working hands on with children, a large part of the job is building a good relationship with their parents, and having strong communication skills.

-Developed strong bonds with each child, creating a sense of security and leadership within the childcare environment.

-Maintained a safe environment for children by adhering to set safety guidelines and protocols.

- Handled conflicts among children diplomatically, teaching them valuable problem-solving skills while maintaining a peaceful environment.

- Collaborated effectively with fellow coworkers to maintain an organized workspace conducive to learning and growth for each child.

- Managed daily routines efficiently, keeping children on track with scheduled meals and activities.

- Adapted quickly to diverse needs of each child within the group, exhibiting flexibility and resourcefulness throughout daily tasks.

This job, similar to my role as a counselor at High 5, INC was a hands on after school care based program that focused on created a safe and supportive environment for children of various and ages and background to thrive. Some of the skills and tasks involved were:

• Observed and monitored children's activities.
• Offered caring companionship and emotional support.
• Facilitated recreational activities tailored to individual children's needs, promoting social engagement as well as physical and emotional stimulation
• Gaining time management skills, patience, stronger sense of empathy, as well as strong communication skills amongst children and adults.
